In the context of micromechanics simulations, the description of the nonlinear material behavior of the different phases of composite material on the mesoscale is the main issue. In combination with real micro-geometry data the stress and strain fields of the CoDiCoFRP components on the microscale are investigated under real macroscopic thermo-mechanical loadings. By means of this virtual material testing (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2), damage and failure mechanism can be identified. Thus, corresponding three-dimensional macroscopic failure and damage models can be developed.
